Medved Trader Connection Guide

Please note that R|Trader Pro must be running for Medved Trader to be able to connect for market data and/or trading.

Step 1: Ensure that the Allow Plugins option is enabled when you log in to R|Trader Pro.  R|Trader Pro can be minimized but always needs to be running. 

Kindly ensure that the login credentials are exact and accurate, as they are both case-sensitive, and there cannot be any errors or spaces before or after the user ID or password.


Step 2: Enter your OneUp Trader User ID & Password into Medved Trader in the Settings / Data Sources / Configure Accounts page. Make sure to use the same login info as what you used to log in to R|Trader Pro. You also need to add the PAPER prefix to the username in Medved Trader for your OneUp Trader Evaluation account. 


Step 3: To trade: go to Settings / Trading / Accounts, click on the Add button on top and select Rithmic to add your account. Make sure to enter the same login info as you did for the Data Source account and for logging into R|Trader Pro. 

NOTE ON SYMBOLS: You need to use the Medved Trader symbol format for all futures symbols. Medved Trader will automatically handle the conversion of the symbols to whatever symbols Rithmic uses. Here are some examples:

@ESZ21
@NQZ21
@YMZ21
@CLZ21

All futures symbols start with the @ sign, followed by the root symbol, 1 character Month Expiration code (Z for December for example) and then 2 digit year. In some cases, an exchange code is needed, though Medved Trader does automatically handle it for most common symbols. But as an example, @ESZ21 is the same as @ESZ21:CME
